Dear Reader, Love Andi O'Connor

Dear Reader…

Thank you so much for your interest my latest book, Call To War. I’m excited to be able to share it with you, as it’s the third and final book in the series. It’s particularly special for me as it marks my first completed series! When I began The Lost Heir as a fun project, I never imagined writing would become my full-time job and that six years later I would have five books published. It’s been an incredible journey and one that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Call To War is actually one of my favorite books that I’ve written, and not because it’s the end of the series. The content matter, and character development in particular, is extremely complex, and I will warn you that it isn’t for the faint of heart. Some of it might be difficult to read, but it is all there for a reason.
The scenes containing those controversial issues were based off of things happening in our world today. They’re more difficult to read because our nature is to hide from these issues as if not acknowledging their existence will make them go away.

They make us uncomfortable. They make us angry. They make us frustrated. But it’s because of these feelings that we should face these issues head on. The first step to change is admitting a problem exists. Without that, nothing will ever evolve for the better.

So, when you read Call To War, I ask that you take in the more difficult scenes with an open mind. Reflect on the topic in question, and admit it exists within our society. Look at those around you: your friends, family, and neighbors. Become familiar with the news in your local community and other communities around the world.

Sometimes, we don’t have to go far to find someone affected by these difficult issues. Perhaps it’s something you experienced but kept it silently hidden in the dark recesses of your mind because that’s what you were told to do or what you were taught was right.

Whatever you find, speak out. Support those who’ve suffered or still continue to suffer. Be their only light amid the suffocating darkness. Help them find their voice and their hope. Never forget that we all have the power to positively change the future, if even onlt for one person.

Never think your voice doesn’t matter.

All the best,
Andi O’Connor
